Who are you talking to?

Many of us blog about our listings, our lives, the economy, politics, and our community, but who is it that we are talking to?  Some I suppose are speaking just to hear themselves, while others are strategic in their discussions and use strategic keywords to increase the probability that their message will be heard (or read in this case) by the right audience.  I am still trying to hone my skills at the latter.

As many know, Pam and I hit on a while variety of topics.  We enjoy life and our lovely little girl so we inundate you with pictures of such from time to time.  We also like to speak of Clarksville, the town in which Pam grew up, and the town in which I have called my home on and off for the past 18 years thanks to the kindness of Uncle Sam.

Fort Campbell and Clarksville are two of the best kept secrets in our Army and our country.  When I first received orders to Fort Campbell out of Germany in 1990 I had to ask someone where the heck it was.  All I knew was that it wasn't in Texas so it wasn't Fort Hood!  There was no access to the internet (or very little) back then so I went to the PX and bought an Atlas and a history book on the storied 101st Airborne Division.

19 years later, after arriving, going to the first Gulf War with the 101st and serving with not only the 101st but with the Special Operations Community on Fort Campbell, I could not have asked for a better assignment.  Besides that, I met the love of my life and together we have made a great life in Clarksville Tennessee. But I digress..

Back to the topic at hand - who are you talking to?  Well above I suppose I was talking to hear myself talk - a little braggin of sort I suppose.  I brag because I am proud of what I have become and what I have accomplished, but also humbled because I know that many people in my life were there to help me to succeed.

Those people are also known as Soldiers and I have the honor of still serving them, but in a different capacity than I once did.  Instead of serving beside them, I now am serving them and their families in their PCS moves to and from Fort Campbell Kentucky.  While it certainly is not the same as serving beside them, it is a way to stay in touch with my brethren and a way to help them in their careers.  I know, you are asking 'How the heck is that old Soldier assisting young Soldiers in their careers?"  Simple, between Pam and I, we make the transition process smoother for the Families which assists the Soldier to keep focus on their secondary target (Remember Family is always the primary!)

One day, the young Soldiers of today's Army will pass the beret to the next generation and look to what is next.  Some will move on to other areas, some will find a calling and some will remain close to the community which has become family and find a way to continue to serve in some form or manner like many before them.  Being a Realtor is simply one of those ways. And reaching them is easier today than it has ever been before.

So, now I am talking to the Soldiers and the Families of the Fort Campbell area or those who are on orders to come to this great community.  Know your audience, your market, and the needs of your clientele.  Sounds simple right?  It is for the most part.

So again, who are you talking to?  If you are looking to buy or sell Real Estate in the Clarksville and Fort Campbell area, Pam and I sure hope that you are talking to us.  If not us, we sincerely hope you are talking to a Realtor that understands your needs and will work hard to ensure that you and your family's needs are met to the high standards that you are accustomed to.  After-all, it is more than just a sale - its a commitment and to many of us in the Clarksville area - an honor to serve you.

For our Heros and their Families who are soon to return, we thank you for your sacrifice and continue to pray for your safe return.  Again, we look forward to serving you in the future.
